QA Engineer

Scorecard

Role Overview

We are seeking a QA Engineer to own hands-on quality engineering for SupraHuman’s iOS and Android products, including the shared Flutter application, supporting native integrations, APIs, data flows, and web surfaces. The initial priority is real-device mobile testing and release confidence, paired with practical automation that shortens feedback loops. This person will turn product risks into repeatable test coverage, actionable defects, CI evidence, and an independent release-readiness recommendation so customers and executives are never the first systematic test pass.

A-Player Defined

An A-Player in this role treats quality like a craft and a responsibility. You show up with consistency, urgency, and pride in catching issues before they impact customers. You take ownership of outcomes, communicate clearly, and unblock yourself and others. You think like both a user and an engineer, breaking systems to understand where they fail and ensuring they don’t fail again. You move fast, document thoroughly, and hold a high bar for reliability across everything we ship. At Supra Human, top performers embody our values through their actions. They take extreme ownership of their work, treat every release like it’s their most important one, and always play to win.

Core Responsibilities

Mobile-First Quality Ownership

  • Own the mobile quality strategy and daily execution for iOS and Android, balancing exploratory testing, risk-based regression, and automated coverage
  • Perform exploratory and scripted testing across company-provided physical devices, supported OS versions, screen sizes, network conditions, and pre-release builds
  • Validate end-to-end journeys including onboarding, authentication, Today, programs, workout tracking, nutrition, messaging, notifications, settings, health-data permissions, wearable sync, and account switching
  • Create actionable defects with app build, environment, device and OS, safe test data, reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, evidence, severity, and regression status
  • Maintain a feature and platform parity matrix, risk-based regression suite, and traceable evidence across mobile, API, database, CRM, and third-party boundaries

Test Automation & Quality Engineering

  • Build and maintain automated coverage at the appropriate level, including Flutter unit, widget, and integration tests; API contract tests; and critical end-to-end flows
  • Integrate quality checks into GitHub Actions CI, track pass counts and flaky tests, and keep failures easy to isolate without treating a green build as complete release proof
  • Test REST APIs, authentication, authorization, data integrity, error handling, and third-party integrations such as Auth0, OneSignal, Sendbird, Branch, Terra, Firebase, and health platforms
  • Create reusable test fixtures, safe test accounts, and credential-safe diagnostics; protect tokens, private payloads, and personal health data in all QA artifacts

Mobile App & Device Validation

  • Own a prioritized iOS and Android device and OS matrix, and keep company-provided physical devices ready for each release candidate
  • Test installation, first launch, login and session behavior, installed updates, permissions, deep links, notifications, interruptions, foreground/background/terminated states, unstable connectivity, performance, accessibility, and UI consistency
  • Compare Flutter, native iOS, and Android behavior for accepted feature parity, including push, messaging, workouts, HealthKit or health-platform permissions, Terra, and wearable integrations
  • Execute release regression through TestFlight and Google Play internal or closed testing, retest affected and adjacent areas, and maintain pass/fail evidence tied to exact build identifiers

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner with engineering, product, data, and operations from refinement through release to make acceptance criteria testable and surface risks early
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, defect triage, and retrospectives, providing clear QA estimates, dependencies, and risk calls
  • Communicate defects, coverage gaps, integration failures, and release risks clearly, with evidence and an explicit next action
  • Provide an independent release-readiness recommendation before builds reach executive validation, clients, app stores, or production, and preserve rollback evidence for high-risk changes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on QA or quality engineering experience, with recent responsibility for native or cross-platform iOS and Android applications
  • Ability to write and maintain automated tests in at least one relevant language or framework; Flutter and Dart test experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD quality gates and GitHub Actions or a comparable platform, including diagnosing failures and managing flaky tests
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a real-device and OS matrix and testing iOS and Android pre-release builds, installed updates, background behavior, and production releases
  • Experience with TestFlight, Google Play internal or closed testing, API tools such as Postman, and defect tracking in Asana or Jira
  • Ability to test complex integrations, write precise evidence-backed defects, manage regression results, and communicate release risk independently

Nice to have:

  • Experience with fitness, coaching, health-data, or wearable integrations such as Apple Health, HealthKit, Google Health Connect, Terra, or device APIs
  • Experience with mobile automation or device-cloud platforms such as Maestro, Appium, BrowserStack, or Firebase Test Lab
  • Experience testing native Swift or Kotlin integrations, accessibility, performance, notifications, deep links, messaging, or offline and background lifecycle behavior

  3. TAKE EXTREME OWNERSHIP
  4. DO WHAT IT TAKES
